IT Support: Reading
IT support for organisations in Reading, from everyday issues to ongoing support.
Recurring sign-in problems, slow laptops and unclear ownership of devices cost teams time every week. Our support for organisations in Reading begins remotely, brings in an on-site visit when hands-on work is needed and can grow into an ongoing arrangement.

The everyday problems support should take off your plate.
Most support requests fall into a few familiar groups. Each needs a clear owner rather than landing with whoever is nearest.
-
People and access
Sign-in failures, password resets, mailbox access and permission changes when someone joins, moves role or leaves.
Example issues
- locked account
- shared mailbox access
- new starter set-up
-
Devices
Laptops, desktops and printers that are slow, misconfigured or out of date, and decisions about when to fix or replace them.
Example issues
- slow laptop
- printer not found
- missed updates
-
Problems that keep coming back
Issues that are fixed and then return, usually because the underlying cause has not been found.
Example issues
- office Wi-Fi drop-outs
- the same error each week
- file sync problems
Ongoing support
From one-off help to an ongoing arrangement.
Many organisations start by calling someone when something breaks. That works until problems become frequent, knowledge sits with one person or no one is sure which devices and accounts exist.
What an ongoing arrangement adds
An agreed scope, a single route for reporting problems, routine administration such as starters and leavers, and regular review of issues that keep recurring.
Starting small
The arrangement can begin with the users and devices causing most difficulty, then extend as needs become clearer. The scope is agreed before work begins.
Our IT Support service explains how ongoing and managed arrangements fit together.
Service model
Help that starts remotely.
When someone reports a problem, the first step is usually a remote session: checking the account, device or application while the person explains what they see. Work begins without waiting for someone to travel.
If the fault turns out to be physical, such as failed hardware, cabling or equipment that needs replacing, an on-site visit is arranged to finish the job.
Microsoft 365
Accounts, devices and Microsoft 365.
For most organisations, Microsoft 365 is where accounts, email and shared files live, so much of everyday support happens there: sign-ins, mailboxes, Teams and file permissions. Keeping those tidy alongside the devices people use stops many problems before they start.
Larger changes, such as restructuring permissions or moving to Microsoft 365 from another system, are planned through our Microsoft 365 service.
Security
Security basics as part of support.
Good support habits are also good security: removing access promptly when people leave, keeping devices updated and protected, and replacing software that is no longer supported.
If your organisation needs Cyber Essentials, Cyber Essentials preparation helps you work through the technical requirements before assessment. Certification itself is carried out by an independent certification body.

Before you start
Questions about support.
Can you visit our premises in Reading?
When hands-on work is needed, yes. Most issues are handled remotely first, and an on-site visit is arranged when a problem needs someone present.
Can we start with a smaller arrangement?
Yes. Support can begin with the people and devices causing most difficulty and be extended once the scope is clearer.
We already have an IT supplier. Can you still help?
Yes. We can cover specific tasks alongside an existing supplier or take over from them, with responsibilities agreed first.
Is Microsoft 365 included?
Everyday Microsoft 365 issues can be part of support. Larger administration or migration work is scoped separately.
Do you support home users?
No. We support organisations and their staff.
